This year experts at the International Union of Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has put together a list of 100 most endangered animals in the world.

As reported by TIME, species in the IUCN list are all located close to the verge of extinction, because the population of each species is diminishing quickly making an effort to preserve these animals is urgent and requires the attention of us all.

In 100 list of endangered animals are 5 species were at the end of extinction, some of which have a population of less than 100 individuals.

Here is a list of 5 of the most endangered species extinct.

 

1 rhino java

Population: <100 individuals
